You'll get a clear read on what they do, where each excels, the favorite features of each app, how much it costs, and where it's available. In this article, you'll find the 5 apps that you need to install if you are a live musician. From practicing, songwriting, and recording, to live shows and the all-important utility tool. Using the criteria above, a final list was formed that naturally accounted for the entire journey of a performing musician. This helped to add more value and cater to a wider range of performing musicians. Each App is UniqueĪdditionally, it became important to make sure that each recommended app offered something unique compared to the other apps on the list. If an app in question was needlessly complex or resource-intensive, it probably wasn’t going to cut it. Usability, in the context of not being at home, or even being in front of a live audience, was also an important factor. And adds value - be it monetary or creative, something that makes it worth your while to use with frequency and helps you advance your music career. That means an essential music app that is portable because a live musician is on the road or at least away from home quite a bit. So right off the bat, the recommendations needed to have the live musician in mind. The goal is to ultimately save you, the performing musician, time on finding diamonds in the rough. It wasn't good enough to just list out the coolest music apps - there needed to be something more concrete. When sitting down to write this article, the need for clear criteria became clear. One to listen to music, another to record, another one to listen to indie music, etc. And each app has a varying degree of purpose - even within your music folder on your phone, you may have 5 music apps that do different things. The average smartphone has 80 apps installed - let that sink in for a second. If that's you, then this article on the best apps for performing musicians had you in mind all along. And there are more than enough music apps, even those built just for musicians, but we wanted to focus on the wild breed of musicians who like to pour their hearts out with an audience surrounding them. Bussmann fuse holder- RTA Fuse Block for ATC/ATO Fuses & Breakers In Common anode configuration, the common pin is given a high logic and the LED pins are given low to display a number. The common is connected to ground and a particular LED glows when its corresponding pin is given high. In Common cathode configuration, the negative terminals of all LEDs are connected to the common pins. The 7 segment display come in two configurations, namely, Common cathode and Common anode. These are pretty much the only characters of the alphabet which can be produced. This includes alphabet characters, A, b, C, c, d, E, F, H, h, L, l, O, o, P, S. For this project, we will show how to create all the alphabetical characters which can be shown at a 7 segment LED dsiplay. While eight pins correspond to the eight LEDs, the remaining two pins (at middle) are common and internally shorted. The 7 segment LED is really a versatile display device. Generally seven segment displays are available in 10 pin package. Seven LEDs ‘a’ to ‘g’ are used to display the numerals while eighth LED ‘h’ is used to display the dot/decimal. They are laid out as a squared-off figure ‘8’.Įvery LED is assigned a name from ‘a’ to ‘h’ and is identified by its name. The most common configuration has an array of eight LEDs arranged in a special pattern to display these digits. They find wide application in devices that display numeric information like digital clocks, radio, microwave ovens, electronic meters etc. IBCD to 7 Segment Display Circuit BCD 7-Segment Display Common Cathode Common Anode Working of 7-Segment Display (LED & LCD) Circuit 7-Segment Display. Additionally the ON / OFF of the segments corresponds to the HIGH / LOW of the Arduino. Conversely, to turn it off, we need to set the pin to HIGH. To turn on a digit on a common cathode LED display, we need to set the pin to LOW. We will use the digital pins 2, 3, 4 and 5 for the digit control inputs and pins 6 to 13 for the segments A through DP. We will use Arduino to control a common cathode LED display. The remaining pins correspond to the individual segments. 4-digit 7-segment LED display pinoutįour of these pins (D1, D2, D3, and D4) are used to control the individual digits and determine which signals pass through the LED blocks. We also need to apply voltage to inputs B and C as shown below: Image showing with red color the wires that should be activated for displaying the number ‘1111’ 4-Digit 7-Segment LED display PINOUTĪ typical 4-digit 7-segment LED display has 12 pins, with six pins on each side, as shown in the figure below. 4-digit 7-segment LED display internal connectivity showing the segment pins and the digit control pins that control whether or not the signal from the segment pins will be displayed in the corresponding LED block.Īs a result if we want to display the number 1111, we have to apply voltage to the D1, D2, D3 and D4 because all displays will show a digit. Below we show the 4 digit LED display with the additional 4 control input pins, one for each of the LED block. Therefore, in a 4-digit display we will also have 4 digit pins that control the LED blocks individually. In order to control which LED block will let that signal to pass, we have another pin for each of the LED blocks, the digit pin. For example, with this wiring, if we apply voltage to the A pin of the 4-digit display, the A segments of all LED blocks will be turned on. This reduces the number of pins of a multi-digit display but increases the complexity of controlling it. 4-digit 7-segment LED display internal connectivity showing the pins of the various LED blocks are interconnected. The quiet parameter available in several MAXScript commands cannot overwrite the quiet mode that defines 3ds Max in non-interactive mode such as batch (3dsmaxbatch.exe) or command line rendering (3dsmaxcmd.exe). We implemented the behavior described above because if a node isn't supplied to the mouseTrack MAXScript function using the "on:" keyword argument and the construction plane is orthogonal to view, it doesn't really make sense to process any mouse events because rays casted from the mouse position will never intersect the construction plane. Right clicks are still detected because they are commonly used to exit the mouse tracking mode. If the "on" keyword argument isn't specified, all forms of input except right clicks are ignored if the construction plane and the view are orthogonal. If the "on:" keyword argument is specified, all forms of input (left clicks, right clicks, left click drags and mouse moves) are always detected, even if the construction plane and the view are orthogonal. We have changed that behavior to the following: The mouseTrack MAXScript function used to not detect left clicks when the construction plane and the view were orthogonal. MAXX-63697įixed an issue that caused INI files included in the plugin.ini file to be added to the file when 3ds Max was launched. MAXX-64755įixed an issue that caused the log-file longevity settings to not be loaded from 3dsmax.ini when 3ds Max was launched. MAXX-64202įixed issue that when merging scene files saved prior to 3ds Max 2015, the scene node layers were not being added to Layer Manager. If set node's base object via maxscript, do not reset Create panel or Modify panel unless node in that panel is the node whose base object is being changed. Additional '_' may be prepended to name to make layer name unique. For other orphaned layers, the layer name is prepended with " Recovered " and added to Layer Manager. If the orphaned layer has the name "0" and has no parent layer, the nodes in that layer are moved to the layer "0" held by Layer Manager. On scene file load / merge, clean up node layers that exist but are not in Layer Manager. Miss Hayward said: “We tend to think of lighting and thunderstorms happening over the summer, but combining the datasets showed this isn’t solely the case. One interesting finding was that in Scotland, north-west facing coastlines have a second, smaller peak in lightning and thunderstorm activity in the winter. Inland parts of the south-east of England tend to see more lightning flashes from April to August, whereas in southern England coastal regions the highest lightning flash density occurs from May to July. The researchers separated the data into seven geographical regions and found that different areas have contrasting summer thunderstorm seasons. If councils are prepared for regional variations in the time of year this type of weather is likely to occur, they can make sure for example that all the drains are clear to reduce the danger and also implement contingency plans for rail and road users.” “Thunderstorms can also produce intense bursts of rainfall which can result in flash flooding, especially in urban areas, and this type of hazard can be really expensive in both monetary and human terms. It’s common sense really, but we hope this new research will arm people with stronger data and information than ever before. Radar and lightning data for the past 24 hours can be displayed. New images are available every 15 minutes. For example, if you’re heading out on a mountain expedition and you know the highest risk time of day for your region, you can avoid being on the peak or a ridge and hopefully have descended before this time. Explanation of map The map shows precipitation intensity from weather radars in Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark and lightning from lightning sensors. But the slide thing is bothering me.ĭoes anyone have a V550 or equivelant who can scan both indoor and outdoor slides to see if they have the same results? Or maybe know of a way I can get the scanner to just scan and let me crop? No issues at all (save for the dimensions were not the same for each image). So I put the slides away and moved to the film. Put the slides back in and same results as before. The scan showed all four holders for the slides and they were correct. I thought the scanner may have been out of alignment so I took the slides off and left the carriage on the glass and did a scan. One slide was taken in daylight while the other three were done indoors. Tried the same slides but in different locations and the same result. Third and fourth were definitely cropped. First slide was a full scan, meaning the entire image was visible. Got it all set up, easy enough, and got started. Just happened to have a box of slides and some film so thought it would be a great time to test drive the box. I purchased a refurbished Epson V550 from Amazon and it arrived today. This is one thing that drove me nuts about Photoshop plugins I tried in the past - pretty much every photoshop plugin uses one or more “autocolor” adjustments in an early part of the conversion, but these adjustments end up “fully baked” in the output - there is no transparency to color adjustment is being applied, and no ability to change it in the early, crucial state in the editing pipeline.I have searched around here to see if anyone else has had this issue but do not see anything. Whether evaluative or fixed, it should be easy to see and adjust exactly what it is doing. For instance, some tools enable you to use both an autocolor algorithm and a fixed film profile at the same time, which stacks the effects and leads to bad color.ģ. Whether evaluative or fixed, it all needs to be integrated into a single tool to avoid a “stacking” effect. “Evaluative” profiles (like AutoNeutral and AutoWarm) typically outperformed “fixed” film profiles.Ģ. This means i can convert batches of frames and only reprocess a few in NLP.Īnd yes! I did a ton of testing on “film specific profiles” a while back (ala Vuescan, Silverfast, ColorPerfect), and had a few conclusions from that testing that heavily influenced the design of Negative Lab Pro:ġ. Basically the defaults just work unlike SilverFast where you need to fiddle about choosing films and even in some cases editing profiles. This means i can convert batches of frames and only reprocess a few in NLP.Ī good job particular impressed with the colour cast removal / conversion in NLP. I’m particular impressed with the colour cast removal / conversion in NLP. If i was super diligent i’d save the raw HDRi format too but have decided not to buy the HDRi license required as wasn’t impressed with the demo and if i’m going to fiddle with the images prefer to use better tools - NLP / lightroom / Photoshop / Pixelmator With HDRi wasn’t that impressed with the Silverfast’s HDR software (its basically the same as Silverfast 9 AI but with an additional cost). In all these cases dust and scratches were an issue. I experimented with Sillverfast raw HDRi, DNG and tried Epson Scan and Epson Scan 2 without adding much value. I’m getting similar results with both but in general NLP gives me a more pleasing result. Seems a bit over the top but find negative to positive is a good point to set up the frames. My workflow now is scan negative to positive with Silverfast 9 AI and scan positive with iSRD for NLP both at 3200 dpi 48 bit TIFF. If you switch to Verizon and bring your own phone the carrier will give you $180 back over 36 months. You do, however, get Verizon's network for $120 a month for four lines, assuming you have automatic payments set up. While the names are flipped, the core offer is still largely the same: There are no streaming perks like the Disney Bundle with this plan, no hotspot data and you can't hop on Verizon's fastest 5G networks (which it calls Ultra Wideband). Verizon's updated plans have replaced the carrier's previous Welcome Unlimited offer with. All the deals also require that you set up AutoPay and paperless billing. These prices do come with a couple of caveats: Unlike T-Mobile's Magenta, Magenta Max, Go5G or Go5G Plus plans, taxes and fees are not included in any of these prices, making the actual total a little higher. The four-line option is $100 at T-Mobile, compared to $140 at the other carriers. Three lines will also run $90 at T-Mobile thanks to a promotion, compared to $135 monthly at AT&T or Verizon. Two lines of Essentials Savings is $80 a month, while a similar offering from AT&T or Verizon runs $120 a month. The savings of T-Mobile's plan also become more pronounced the more lines you add. You can always reevaluate your options as the three major carriers roll out the latest updates to their respective 5G networks over the next couple of years. We should note that Verizon's 5G Start doesn't support its fastest forms of 5G. All three carriers offer 5G access with their base plans. In addition to being $5 less than AT&T's option, T-Mobile's Essentials includes unlimited mobile hotspot (albeit at slower "3G speeds"), giving you a little more flexibility. In this price-focused comparison, T-Mobile's new "limited time" option comes in at $50 for a single line, $5 a month cheaper than AT&T's Unlimited Starter and $10 less than Verizon's 5G Start or T-Mobile's own regular Essentials pricing. Unlimited talk, text and data are included for all of the carrier's base unlimited plans. Those looking to save the most on unlimited service from the major carriers may be best with T-Mobile's Essentials Savings. You may need to click "see more plans" on T-Mobile's site to get this option to appear. (If you need three or more, you may want to look at one of T-Mobile's other plans, which could be cheaper, thanks to various promotions that the carrier regularly runs.) It also is worth mentioning that T-Mobile allows for multiple lines on this plan, with two lines running $80 a month. Even at "3G speeds," the option could be a useful feature in a pinch. While the prices between AT&T and T-Mobile are now the same, we give T-Mobile the edge here, mainly because it includes hotspot access. You do get unlimited hotspot at "3G speeds," along with unlimited talk, text and 2G data in Mexico and Canada.Īt $50 for a single line, the Essentials Savings plan is now the same price for a single line as AT&T's Value Plus plan, and both could be solid options for those looking for a single line without frills.
